ROBBIE LYNCH SENTENCED IN DUNDEE FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST SCHOOLGIRLS
In a case that has shocked the community of Dundee, Robbie Lynch, a 23-year-old man, has been sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses involving two underage girls. The crimes took place over a span of several years, from November 2014 to 2019, and involved disturbing acts of sexual assault and abuse against minors.
Robbie Lynch targeted two girls, both aged 15 at the time of the offenses.
The first victim was assaulted between April and May 2015, when she was just 14 years old.
During this assault, Lynch forcibly pinned her to a bed with the apparent intent to rape her.
The assault was not an isolated incident, as Lynch later raped her again several months later when she had turned 15.
The second girl, who was only 12 years old, was subjected to inappropriate touching by Lynch, who also attempted to grope her, further highlighting the severity of his predatory behavior.
The High Court in Glasgow heard detailed testimonies and evidence that led to Lynch’s conviction on five sexual-related charges, including two counts of rape.
The presiding judge, John McCormick, expressed concern over Lynch’s criminal record, describing it as “worrying” for someone of his age.
Despite his youth, Lynch’s history of sexual misconduct prompted the court to take stringent measures to protect the public.
Judge McCormick sentenced Lynch to six years in prison and ordered that, upon his release, he be placed under a three-year period of supervision.
Additionally, Lynch was mandated to register as a sex offender for an indefinite period, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions aimed at preventing further harm.
In his sentencing remarks, Judge McCormick emphasized the importance of public safety, stating, “I take account that you are a young man at 23 but you have a worrying record for someone of your age.
As you are a convicted sex offender, I need to ensure the public are protected against serious harm when you are released.” The case has left a lasting impact on the community of Dundee, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance and protective measures against sexual predators.
