RAFQUIL ISLAM SHOCKS DUNDEE WITH UNINVITED SEXUAL ASSAULT ON EX-PARTNER
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community of Dundee, Rafiqul Islam, aged 35, was found guilty of sexually assaulting his former partner after unlawfully entering her residence without permission.The assault took place on July 16, 2023, and Islam has since been placed on the sex offenders register for a period of one year as part of his sentence.
According to court proceedings at Dundee Sheriff Court, the victim was abruptly awakened by Islam, who had entered her home uninvited.
During the confrontation, Islam demanded to know who she was engaging with sexually, a question that added to her distress.
The woman, feeling threatened and unsafe, instructed him to leave her property.
She then hurried to a bathroom where she attempted to contact emergency services by calling 999.
However, overwhelmed by fear and the presence of Islam, she was too frightened to speak to the police officers when they arrived.
Despite her efforts to seek help, Islam continued to make unwanted sexual advances towards her.
During a phone call she made to a friend, she was heard to say “don’t touch me,” indicating her clear rejection of his inappropriate behavior.
The victim’s account of the events highlights the terrifying nature of the assault and her desperate attempt to seek safety and support.
Following the incident, police swiftly responded and arrested Islam, who was taken into custody.
His actions have been condemned by the court, and he has now been officially registered as a sex offender for a year, reflecting the seriousness of his misconduct.
