PAUL BROWN, CHILD RAPIST FROM DUNDEE, SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN PRISON
In November 2003, Paul Brown, a 36-year-old former bouncer from Dundee, was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of drugging underage girls and committing sexual offenses against them. The High Court in Edinburgh heard that Brown had given amphetamine, commonly known as speed, to two 15-year-old schoolgirls before sexually assaulting one of them and indecently assaulting the other.
The incident occurred in his car in Dundee during the early hours of a November morning.
Police found the victims in Lochee Road, Dundee, after being alerted by a concerned passer-by who saw the girls clearly distressed.
The rape victim was found frightened and visibly shocked, while her friend was described as being in a confused state.
When officers approached Brown, who was unemployed, living on disability benefits, he returned to his vehicle, which had run out of fuel, carrying a can of petrol.
Upon being questioned about the allegations, Brown, who was also under the influence of amphetamine, responded fiercely, saying: "I am not a f****** beast." Brown admitted to sexually assaulting one girl and raping the other after administering amphetamine to both.
He also confessed to possessing the drug.
Advocate depute Andrew McMillan explained to the court that first-time amphetamine users can experience heightened libido, euphoria, and agitation.
The court noted that the police found the rape victim to be very distressed during their investigation.
Judge Roderick Macdonald, QC, sentenced Brown, describing his actions that night as "shameful and depraved," and ordered that his name be added to the sex offenders’ register.
