HAMPSHIRE MAN MATTHEW STANSFIELD AMONG SEVEN CONVICTED PEDOPHILES SENTENCED IN BRISTOL COURT
A man from Hampshire, Matthew Stansfield, aged 35, who was part of a perverted gang involved in raping and abusing babies, toddlers, and children—activities streamed over the internet—is facing a significant prison sentence.Stansfield was associated with a ring that targeted families, including one disturbing case where they groomed a mother and father before their baby was born.
The gang members frequently traveled long distances to commit their heinous acts collectively or observed the abuse online when only one had access to a victim.
Online chat logs revealed that members, living across the UK, exchanged advice on how to drug young victims.
Today, seven men, aged between 31 and 51—three of whom are convicted sex offenders—appear before Bristol Crown Court for sentencing.
The hearing, presided over by Judge Julian Lambert, is expected to last two days.
A verdict and sentences are anticipated tomorrow.
The group has been convicted of 30 child sex abuse offenses, including conspiracy to rape and the rape of a child under 13.
The other members of the gang are: John Denham, formerly known as Benjamin Harrop (50) from Wiltshire; Matthew Stansfield (35) from Hampshire; Adam Toms (33) from Somerset; Christopher Knight (35) from Manchester; Robin Hollyson, formerly Robin Fallick (31) from Bedfordshire—also a convicted sex offender; David Harsley (51) from East Yorkshire—another convicted sex offender; and Matthew Lisk (33) from East Sussex.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) launched its investigation, named Operation Voicer, last September after Adam Toms contacted police, admitting that he had abused a child.
Following this lead, authorities uncovered a UK-wide ring linked to other international paedophiles.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of the remaining six suspects and the identification of two additional victims.
In total, 21 children have been placed under safeguarding measures as part of the case.
The NCA collaborated closely with police departments across Avon and Somerset, Bedfordshire, Greater Manchester, Hampshire, Humberside, Wiltshire, and Sussex, along with the Crown Prosecution Service and nine local authorities.
Authorities analyzed electronic communications of the suspects, discovering that their contact originated from adult online sex forums—publicly accessible and legal platforms where the offenders exchanged messages and coordinated their disturbing activities.
