SHERIFF SLAMS STALKER WHO MADE SINISTER MANNEQUIN OF EX-GIRLFRIEND
Mark Glass, aged 20, from Crossgate, Cupar, was involved in a disturbing stalking case between December 2014 and February 2015.He dressed a mannequin made of pillows in his ex-girlfriend’s nurse uniform, placing a face on it to make it resemble her, and then sent a photo of this sinister dummy to her via Facebook.
Additionally, he appeared outside her workplace holding flowers and a teddy bear.
Prior to these incidents, he had already been bombarding her with unwanted phone calls and messages on Facebook.
His ex-girlfriend changed her number but was compelled to contact the police after receiving the unsettling picture of the mannequin.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that Glass faced up to a year in prison after pleading guilty to charges of stalking.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael expressed his concern, stating: “I don’t think you understand just how serious this is.
You are on the cusp of a custodial sentence.” The court deferred sentencing until later in the month.
This case highlights the serious nature of stalking behaviors and the potential for criminal penalties if such actions continue.
UPDATE 20-11-2025 A 31-year-old Dundee man, Mark Glass, has been jailed after a series of abusive incidents directed at his former partner, including a vile message sent immediately after she gave birth to their child.
The court heard that the couple’s relationship had collapsed during her pregnancy.
When she informed him that the baby had arrived, Glass responded with hostility, wishing misery on her and expressing hatred.
Further messages followed in which he told her to “die in that bed”, alongside additional remarks where he later wished illness upon her.
Over the following months, Glass continued to harass her with calls and messages — sometimes apologising, other times threatening.
Footage from her Ring doorbell also showed him turning up at her home and shouting towards the property.
On one occasion, police were actually in her living room when a call from him came through from a disguised number.
He went on to breach bail by making further contact.
The court was told that Glass already had multiple domestic abuse convictions.
He admitted a course of abusive behaviour covering January to July of this year.
Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith highlighted the severe impact on the victim, noting that she had just gone through the ordeal of childbirth when Glass sent his most extreme message, and that his behaviour caused significant psychological harm.
Glass received an eight-month custodial sentence and a three-year non-harassment order prohibiting further contact with his ex-partner.
