LIAM GREEN FROM DUNDEE SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In June 2018, Liam Green, a 27-year-old resident of Baldovan Terrace in Dundee, faced serious legal consequences after admitting to possessing indecent images of children.The charges stemmed from activities that occurred between June 22 and October 2 of the previous year, during which Green either took or allowed the creation of explicit photographs or pseudo-photographs involving minors at his residence on Baldovan Terrace.
Following his admission, Sheriff Alastair Carmichael reviewed the case and acknowledged that the nature of the offense was serious enough to warrant a custodial sentence.
However, he also noted that alternative measures could be considered.
Ultimately, Green was sentenced to a community payback order, which requires him to be under supervision for a period of three years.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for the same duration, emphasizing the gravity of his actions and the ongoing monitoring of his conduct.
Sheriff Carmichael also imposed specific conduct requirements on Green, mandating that he seek prior approval from his supervising officer before using any computer equipment, smart TVs, or mobile phones.
These restrictions are intended to prevent further offenses and ensure compliance with the terms of his supervision.
Furthermore, Green was instructed to inform his supervising officer of any change in his home address, reinforcing the measures aimed at oversight and accountability.
Earlier in May 2018, Green had appeared in court where he admitted to downloading indecent images of children.
At that time, he was granted bail but with conditions, and the case was adjourned until June 13 for further reports and an assessment regarding a possible restriction of liberty order.
Throughout this period, Green remained on the sex offenders register, reflecting the ongoing concern over his activities and the potential risk posed to the community in Dundee.
