Dundee care worker jailed for sexually abusing vulnerable resident

DUNDEE CARE WORKER JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING VULNERABLE RESIDENT

Lewis Collings, aged 28, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a vulnerable resident at a care facility in Dundee, where he was employed.

During the incident, he was caught crouching beside the woman’s bed with his trousers hanging below his waist, initially claiming that he was adjusting a wedgie.

However, during the trial, Collings testified that the victim had pulled his trousers down.

The jury dismissed his account as false and convicted him of exposing himself to the resident.

A sheriff criticized Collings for providing misleading testimony and attempting to blame the victim.

Evidence also emerged during the proceedings that his internet searches included topics related to sexual acts involving a care home resident.

Residing on Dunholm Road, Collings was sentenced to four years in prison, with three years to be served behind bars, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

The court highlighted his inconsistent stories and breach of public trust, with the sheriff stating, 'Your version of events was never believed by the jury.
