LEVIN ANDERSON CAUGHT IN DUNDEE NIGHTCLUB SCANDAL: SHOCKING SURVEILLANCE OF WOMEN IN THE TOILETS
A disturbing incident involving a man who secretly recorded women in a state of undress within the female toilets of a popular Dundee nightclub has resulted in a community-based punishment for the offender.Levon Anderson, the individual responsible, was caught in the act at Club Tropicana, located on South Ward Road, in November 2016.
The case has garnered significant attention due to the invasive nature of the offense and the breach of privacy it entailed.
According to court proceedings, Anderson was observed by a female patron who noticed him hiding in a cubicle and holding his mobile phone close to the floor as women entered and exited the adjoining cubicle.
The woman, alarmed by the suspicious behavior, attempted to retrieve the phone, but Anderson quickly retracted it back into the privacy of the cubicle.
She then waited in the bathroom for approximately five minutes until Anderson exited the cubicle to her left.
Upon his departure, she confronted him, and along with another witness, managed to seize his mobile device.
Subsequently, the witnesses examined the phone and discovered that Anderson had recorded two videos of women using the bathroom facilities, one of which was the woman who had confronted him.
The footage was handed over to the police, who conducted an interview with Anderson.
During the interview, he admitted to the allegations fully, acknowledging his actions.
The court heard that Anderson’s behavior was particularly invasive and unusual, prompting the sheriff to impose a community payback order.
He was sentenced to six months of supervision and was also placed on the sex offenders register for a period of six months.
The legal proceedings were overseen by Dundee Sheriff Court, with Deputy Fiscal Kate Irwin presenting the case.
She described the incident as a clear violation of privacy and emphasized the distress caused to the victims.
In his defense, solicitor advocate Jim Laverty described Anderson as a young man facing certain personal difficulties, suggesting that this context might have contributed to his actions.
Sheriff Tom Hughes acknowledged the seriousness of the case, describing it as “most unusual,” and emphasized the importance of addressing such breaches of privacy with appropriate sanctions to prevent future occurrences.
