JOHN CONNOLLY AND JOANNE GALE FROM WARRINGTON AND SIMON COLLINS FROM CHIPPENHAM JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CHESHIRE AND WILTSHIRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked communities across Cheshire and Wiltshire, three individuals involved in a heinous paedophile ring have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their roles in abusing children at a remote farm location. The offenders, John Connolly, aged 42, and Joanne Gale, aged 36, both residents of Warrington in Cheshire, along with Simon Collins, aged 58, from Chippenham in Wiltshire, were convicted of multiple child sex offences at Reading Crown Court.John Connolly received a sentence of 20 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a child, a crime that underscores the severity of his actions. Joanne Gale was sentenced to 14 years for her involvement in aiding and abetting child rape, as well as for possessing and distributing indecent images of children, highlighting her direct participation in the exploitation. Simon Collins was handed a prison term of seven and a half years for commissioning a child sex offence and for creating and possessing extreme pornography, further illustrating the disturbing nature of the crimes committed.
Prior to these convictions, four other members of the same ring had already been sentenced to indefinite imprisonment. These individuals include Simon Wyn-Davies from Windsor in Berkshire, Nicholas Cordery from Wiltshire, Peter Malpas from Moulton in Northamptonshire, and Anthony Flack from Bristol. Their sentences were handed down in October, with all being detained under public protection orders. Some of the offences attributed to all seven offenders, including the crimes committed by Cordery, took place on Cordery’s farm, which served as a location for the abuse.
Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh commented on the complexity of the investigation, describing it as “a very complex investigation, covering several police force areas.” He expressed concern that the offenders may have committed additional crimes beyond those already uncovered and urged anyone who believed they or someone they knew had been victimized to come forward and contact the police. The case has garnered significant attention due to the disturbing nature of the offences and the extensive efforts by law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
