WARRINGTON MAN SENTENCED FOR DISTURBING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES COLLECTION
A paedophile's "high sex drive" left him sobbing in the dock of court.Jordan Clarkson, aged 25, amassed a disturbing collection of hundreds of indecent images of children, including some showing babies being raped.The Liverpool Crown Court heard that police executed a search warrant at Clarkson’s home on April 4 of the previous year, discovering illicit materials on three iPhones seized from him.
The materials included 266 Category A images and 33 videos, which are considered the most serious; 234 Category B images and nine videos; and 402 Category C photographs and five videos.
Additionally, Clarkson had downloaded a computer-generated image depicting abuse and two extreme images involving dogs.
His search history involved terms such as "young", "incest", "paedo", and phrases related to bestiality.Under interview, Clarkson admitted responsibility for possessing the images.
Prosecutor Christopher Hopkins described the images as "particularly grave," emphasizing the severity of the abuse shown.
The defendant, of Almond Drive in Burtonwood, Warrington, accepted that viewing these images was for sexual gratification and explained that he had a "high sex drive." His defence lawyer, Carmel Wilde, stated that Clarkson recognized the concerning nature of his actions and had begun engaging with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation for education and reform.
She also highlighted his status as a young man with no previous convictions, who was a caretaker for his mother and struggled with depression and anxiety at the time of the offences, leading him to seek solace online.Clarkson was charged with possession of indecent images, making three counts of creating indecent images, possessing extreme pornographic images, and possessing a prohibited image.
During the hearing, he appeared in court wearing a black suit and was visibly emotional, dabbing his eyes with a tissue.
The judge, Anil Murray, sentenced him to a 12-month prison term, suspended for two years.
The judge emphasized the seriousness, saying, "These images are particularly grave.
Your search history shows you were actively seeking this material, which is very disturbing.
I make it clear that you are not going to get this chance again." Clarkson acknowledged the sentence with a reply, "Very clear, sir." Furthermore, the court imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, required Clarkson to sign the sex offenders' register for the same period, and mandated various rehabilitative and community measures, including 100 hours of unpaid work, mental health treatment, and participation in a rehabilitation program.
