DR VIJAY GAIKWAD SHOCKS WARRINGTON WITH SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON FEMALE PATIENTS
Dr Vijay Gaikwad, a psychiatrist practicing in Warrington, has been found guilty of committing serious sexual offenses against three female patients under his care.The incidents took place over the course of two years, in 2019 and 2020, during scheduled appointments where the women sought help for their mental health concerns and medication management.
According to court records, during each of these sessions, Gaikwad inappropriately claimed he needed to conduct physical examinations.
Under this pretext, he touched and squeezed the women’s breasts without any medical justification or consent.
These actions, which constitute sexual assault, caused profound emotional and psychological trauma to the victims.
Despite his denials during police interviews, the evidence presented in court was sufficient to establish his guilt.
Gaikwad was convicted on June 12, 2025, and the sentencing hearing is scheduled for July.
The impact of his misconduct has been deeply felt by the victims, with one woman reportedly engaging in self-harming behavior as a direct consequence of the abuse.
Senior Crown Prosecutor Gill Petrovic emphasized that Gaikwad’s betrayal of trust has inflicted lasting harm, and her statement underscored the importance of justice for survivors of sexual abuse.
