November 2011 Jailed for child rape A MAN has been jailed for indecently assaulting four children. Ian Marsden, 47, was jailed for 11 years for historic rape and sex offences after he targeted four children aged between seven and nine. Marsden had denied five charges, but was found guilty by a jury after a four-day trial at Hull Crown Court. Detective Sergeant Adrian Adamson said: “Ian Marsden has begun his sentence for abusing these young children and they can now begin to rebuild their lives knowing he is where he deserves to be. “Marsden has shown absolutely no remorse throughout the investigation and has put those victims through a trial. “I am very pleased the jury saw through his lies and found him guilty. “I would like to thank the victims for their bravery in coming forward.” The police are urging other victims to come forward. Mr Adamson said: “I would urge any further victims of Ian Marsden or any other offenders to come forward and we will help them. “I stress that we will continue to work hard to pursue and prosecute child sex offenders.” Judge David Tremberg sentenced Marsden, of Homethorpe, Orchard Park, to 11 years. He must also sign the sex offenders register for life.
