Kyle Marsay

Hull Sexual Abuser

March 2012 Teenagers jailed after sex attacks on girl under 10 TWO teenage boys who lured a young girl into bushes to sexually assault her have been locked up. Kyle Liam Marsay, 18, (pictured) and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, repeatedly targeted the girl, who was aged under 10. On two occasions they took her into a field, dragged her into bushes and sexually assaulted her. Judge James Sampson sentenced Marsay to six years in a Young Offenders’ Institute. The younger teenager was given four years. Marsay, of Great Thornton Street, west Hull, also assaulted the girl after luring her to his home to see his dogs. Judge Sampson told Marsay: “You were the leader of the two. You both pursued your young victim, you exploited her and took advantage of her. “The adverse impact of this experience upon her may not show itself for many years. “You were both persistent in your actions.” A jury at Hull Crown Court found Marsay and the other boy unanimously guilty after three hours of deliberations. Both Marsay and the youth were convicted of three sexual assaults. Marsay was also convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and inciting a child to commit a sex act. Marsay’s barrister said: “There is little to be said but to point out that these two were rather introverted, lonely, computer game players.” Both boys had no previous convictions. Detective Inspector Jonathan Jeffs said: “This has been a traumatic incident for the victim in this case, which has now been brought to a proper conclusion.” During the four-day trial, the court heard Marsay and his friend followed the girl as she went to play at a friend’s house. He dragged her into bushes in a local school playing field in west Hull. The girl said: “I just wanted to run away, but I couldn’t. “I asked if I could go home and they said ‘yes, if you promise not to tell anyone’, but I kept my fingers crossed behind my back.” On another occasion, Marsay saw the girl playing with a male friend and invited them to come to his home to see his two dogs. Once inside he locked the door, poured them lemonade and sexually assaulted the girl in his bedroom. When the boy ran off, Marsay ordered his dogs to attack the child who suffered a bite to his leg. Terrified, the boy ran home and hid under his bed. The girl told the jury: “I was scared to tell people. I was frightened I would get into trouble.” Her mother said: “I was shocked. It was traumatic.” The pair have been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register.
