September 2000 Paedophile is jailed for life A SERIAL child rapist was starting eight life sentences last night. Harry Hall, 58, is such a prolific predator of children that doctors have diagnosed him with a rare personal deviancy condition called “paraphilic paedophilia”. Police said that he would re-offend if he were ever to be released. His known victims number at least 10 but police fear that he assaulted many more while he was a travelling fairground worker. Hall was arrested earlier this year after seven young women and girls came forward to tell police that he had attacked them after offering them sweets and money. Police learned that Hall had appeared in court for another sexual matter against a 12-year-old girl but was freed on probation by an unwitting judge and resumed offending. He had also been convicted 42 years ago of indecent assaults against youngsters when he was a teenager. At Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, Hall admitted eight rapes, two attempted rapes and 14 indecent assaults against seven victims between 1993 and 1999. Maurice Greene, prosecuting, said that Hall, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, had attacked victims as young as five.
