DEREK BEARDMORE FROM ROCHDALE JAILED INDEFINITELY AFTER TATTOO HELPED IDENTIFY HIM IN CHILD ABUSE CASES
In a chilling case that has shocked the community of Rochdale and beyond, Derek Beardmore, aged 29, has been sentenced to an indefinite term of imprisonment after a series of disturbing crimes involving child abuse images and sexual assault.The case came to light when police identified him through a distinctive tattoo on his hand, which appeared in online images of abuse.
According to court proceedings at Bolton Crown Court, photographs depicting Beardmore abusing a young girl surfaced on an international website.
These images clearly showed his hands with a unique Indian ink dot tattoo, which proved crucial in linking him to the crimes.
The investigation revealed that Beardmore, a security guard by profession, had been involved in a disturbing online activity that included sharing and possessing indecent images of children.
Beardmore admitted to 13 counts of taking indecent photographs of a child and two counts of sexual assault on a minor.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and asked for 16 other counts related to possession of indecent images, as well as one count of sexual assault, to be considered during sentencing.
