EUROMILLIONS WINNER FACES COURT OVER DOMESTIC ASSAULT CLAIMS
A EuroMillions lottery winner who shared a record-breaking £148million jackpot in August 2012 is now facing legal proceedings over allegations of domestic assault.Gillian Bayford, aged 47, is accused of repeatedly punching her ex-boyfriend Gavin Innes in the head and neck during their relationship in 2017.
The charges include three separate incidents occurring between August 1 and October 31, 2017, at addresses in Adam Drive, Dundee, and Auchterhouse in Angus.
It is claimed that Bayford, who now uses the surname Deans after remarrying, assaulted Innes and inflicted injuries through her repeated strikes.
She has entered a not guilty plea through her solicitor at Dundee Sheriff Court, where she is scheduled to attend a trial on September 5, with a procedural hearing set for August 27.
The allegations assert that the assaults were aggravated by involving abuse of her partner or ex-partner, under the Scottish Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm Act 2016.
Bayford denies all charges.
Previously, she and her former husband Adrian shared a historic £148million EuroMillions win, but separated 15 months later after nine years of marriage.
Bayford, once a hospital cleaner, had launched a property and hospitality business after her win but faced financial difficulties with the closure of her cafe in 2016.
