FRASER THOMSON CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN DUNDEE AND CARNOUSTIE
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Dundee and Carnoustie, Fraser Thomson, a 22-year-old drama student and bingo host, was found in possession of highly illegal and disturbing material.The police executed a search of Thomson’s residence following a confidential tip-off, which led to the discovery of child abuse images and extreme pornography on his devices.
Thomson, who resides on Bruce Drive in Carnoustie, was taken into custody and subsequently appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court to face serious charges.
During police interviews, he admitted to possessing and distributing indecent images of children, with the offences spanning from June 12 to November 12, 2021.
He also confessed to possessing child pornography from October 18, 2018, through November 12, 2021, as well as engaging with extreme pornography during the same period.
The court was informed that Thomson lives with his parents and works part-time as a host at Buzz Bingo.
The investigation was initiated after police received a confidential tip regarding the presence of indecent images at his home.
When officers arrived, Thomson was alone at the residence, and a search uncovered the illicit material.
During his police interview, Thomson described his actions as “stupidness and curiosity,” claiming that he did not derive any enjoyment from the material.
He openly admitted that he had anticipated the presence of such images on his phone and acknowledged his involvement in sharing the content.
According to the prosecution, Thomson explained that his motivation for sharing the images was linked to a romantic interest in a male individual, with the intent of impressing him.
Thomson also revealed that he engaged in fantasy chat with other males, describing himself as “a people pleaser and a story teller,” which he suggested contributed to his actions.
The court was told that Thomson’s case was serious enough to warrant a detailed background report before any sentencing could be determined.
The judge deferred sentencing to allow for further assessment of his circumstances and the potential impact of his actions on the victims and the community.
