DUNDEE MAN ADMITS TO ONLINE GROOMING AND SENDING EXPLICIT PHOTOS TO PRESUMED UNDERAGE GIRL
Broughty Ferry man Duncan Jones has admitted sending explicit photographs to a dating account he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl.
Jones, aged 35 and residing at Fettercairn Drive, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of attempting to communicate indecently with a child.
He sent messages through a fake account he thought was operated by 13-year-old Kelsey Smith between February 28 and March 13.
However, the account was actually managed by an adult male.
Jones pled guilty to sending sexual written communication via an online dating app and engaging in sexual conversation, including sending indecent photographs to what he believed was a minor.
When police contacted him about his actions, Jones claimed his phone had been hacked, but he has admitted that he intentionally sent the messages for sexual gratification or to humiliate, distress, or abuse his victim.
He is awaiting sentencing after bail was granted on May 20.
