DUNDEE MAN ACCUSED OF LONG-RUNNING PARTNER ATTACKS TO STAND TRIAL
A man has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he attacked and verbally abused four of his former partners over a span of 12 years.David Lindsay, aged 36, is accused of a series of violent and abusive acts, including burning one woman with a lighter and pouring cooking oil over another, while threatening to set her alight.
The alleged incidents took place at various addresses in Dundee and Fife.
Lindsay did not enter a plea during his initial court appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court and was subsequently remanded in custody.
The allegations include multiple incidents such as Lindsay allegedly self-harming in front of one victim, pouring petrol over her shed and threatening to burn it, burning her leg with a lighter, spat on her, seizing her jaw, dragging her into a garden, throwing bin bags, and punching her.
Another woman reported property destruction and malicious allegations made about her to police at an address in Strathkinness, where Lindsay is also accused of biting and twisting her finger to remove a ring.
Lindsay is also charged with attacking a third woman, threatening her and her child, and making malicious allegations at two Dundee addresses, with accusations of food throwing, stamping on her head, pouring cooking oil over her, and physical assaults including head strikes and slapping.
The fourth woman alleges that Lindsay shouted and swore at her, pushed her against a wall, dragged her from a bed, punched and kicked her, and demanded her phone.
The case was committed for trial following Lindsay’s second court appearance, and he remains in custody pending his trial.
