DARRIN OGILVIE'S HORRIFIC CRIME IN DUNDEE LEAVES VICTIMS SHOCKED AND POLICE ALERTED

Darren Ogilvie, a 36-year-old chef from Dundee, has been sentenced to four years in prison following a brutal and disturbing assault on his former partner and a child. The incident, which took place at St Mungo’s Terrace in Dundee on June 28, has left the local community shaken and authorities determined to ensure justice is served.

According to court reports, Ogilvie’s attack was both violent and sexually aggressive. He attempted to forcibly check whether his former partner had been unfaithful by trying to insert his hand down her trousers and underwear. This invasive act was part of a broader pattern of abuse that included spitting in her face, tearing out a chunk of her hair, stamping on her head, and repeatedly grabbing her by the body and choking her. The assault escalated further when Ogilvie pinned her against a wall and punched her in the head and body, demonstrating a shocking level of brutality.

Ogilvie did not only assault the woman physically but also engaged in threatening and abusive behavior. He shouted and swore at her, refused to let her leave the property, and demanded that she allow him to inspect her private parts for evidence of sexual activity. These actions, which constitute a serious breach of conduct, were admitted by Ogilvie during court proceedings. He also pleaded guilty to charges of threatening behavior and abuse.

The incident was witnessed by a young child, described as a “screaming” toddler, who was present at the scene. An older child, who also saw the assault, attempted to intervene but was assaulted by Ogilvie himself. The offender seized the teenager by the throat and pinned her against a wall, further demonstrating his violent tendencies.

Prior to the attack, Ogilvie had reportedly spent the entire day drinking alcohol at a friend’s house. The court heard that after returning home, he sent a series of text messages to his former partner, discussing their relationship. When she arrived home, she found Ogilvie hiding in her bathroom. When she refused to allow him to inspect her, he launched into a violent attack. Neighbors, hearing the commotion, came to her aid and called the police.

The woman sustained multiple injuries, including a black eye, a burst lip, bruising on her hip, missing hair, and facial injuries. Her ordeal highlights the severity of Ogilvie’s violence and the lasting impact on his victims.

In addition to his prison sentence, Ogilvie will be under supervision for two years after his release. He is required to report any relationship with a female to authorities and is prohibited from using a mobile phone without supervision. Furthermore, he has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and will be subject to a ten-year non-harassment order that bans him from contacting or approaching the victims.
