DANNY BOYLE FROM DUNDEE THREATENS FIREARMS OFFICERS AND HIS EX-PARTNER IN SHOCKING INCIDENT
In a disturbing series of events that unfolded in Dundee, 31-year-old Danny Boyle found himself at the center of a serious domestic disturbance that culminated in a police siege.Boyle, who is currently held at HMP Perth, appeared via a virtual link-up at Dundee Sheriff Court to face charges related to threatening behavior and abusive conduct directed at his former partner earlier this month.
The court proceedings revealed that Boyle and his ex-partner had maintained a relationship for approximately three years prior to the incident.
The trouble began on the afternoon of May 3, when the complainant left her residence around 3:15 pm to attend her second job as a delivery driver.
During her absence, Boyle remained inside the house.
An argument erupted between the two, which was conducted over WhatsApp messages.
The depute fiscal, Alan Kempton, explained that Boyle accused his partner of infidelity, and his messages became increasingly agitated and aggressive.
As a result, the complainant asked Boyle to leave her home and to return the spare key he had been using.
Later that evening, at approximately 6:20 pm, the complainant contacted police to report that she wanted Boyle removed from her property.
She returned to her house around 10 pm after finishing her work shift.
Upon her return, she made a phone call to Boyle demanding the return of her house key.
It was during this exchange that Boyle issued a series of threatening statements.
He told her, “If your lot come to this house a knife is going through them.
I’ll batter everyone you care about and slit their throats.
I’ll come back if I get the jail and finish you off.
I’ll slit your child’s throat.
I don’t give a f**k.” The victim was reportedly horrified by Boyle’s threats.
When she arrived home, Boyle was still present inside the house.
She pleaded with him to leave before the police arrived, but instead, Boyle responded by laughing, shouting, swearing, and banging on the windows, escalating the situation further.
Police officers arrived shortly thereafter, but Boyle refused to exit the premises, leading to a police siege.
The authorities made several attempts to persuade him to leave, during which it was believed Boyle might have been armed with a knife or a similar weapon.
As a precaution, firearms officers were called to the scene.
Boyle continued to refuse cooperation and even told the officers he would “give them a reason to shoot.” It took approximately four hours for law enforcement to successfully remove Boyle from the house.
The incident was characterized by tense negotiations and tactical efforts to ensure everyone’s safety.
Boyle’s behavior was classified as threatening and abusive, with specific aggravation toward his ex-partner.
The court heard that Boyle’s actions on May 3 in the Douglas area of Dundee constituted a serious breach of peace and safety.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on June 19.
The case underscores the severity of domestic violence and the dangers posed when threats escalate to armed standoffs with law enforcement.
