DANIEL WHITE SENTENCED IN HULL FOR DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND BESTIALITY MATERIALS
Daniel White, a 23-year-old motorcycle instructor from Jenthorpe, Orchard Park estate, Hull, was discovered to possess over 3,370 disturbing images and videos of child pornography, along with 280 explicit images of bestiality.Described as socially isolated and seeking online companionship, White engaged in explicit conversations, including one with a woman who had sent him a photo of her daughter.
He asked her if she had engaged in sexual activity with the girl.
White was accused of actively contributing to the heinous trade in child sexual abuse by deriving pleasure from the illicit material, Hull Crown Court heard.
Charlotte Noddings, prosecuting, revealed that police had investigation evidence linking White to these crimes, which involved uploading images via a Twitter account connected to his mobile phone.
The court was told White possessed 1,314 Category A images—the most severe classification—of which 629 were videos.
He also held 1,021 images in Category B (including 125 videos), and 1,036 images in Category C (with 66 videos).
These depicted extremely young girls between the ages of six and 14.
Additionally, White had accumulated 280 images of extreme pornography involving bestiality, including one video.
During police interviews, White claimed he had come across the images by accident and chose not to report them out of fear of repercussions.
He denied having any sexual attraction to children.
Charlotte Baines, defending White, stated that he initially turned to social media due to profound social isolation and a desire for friendship.
"He is an emotionally lonely man and has never had an intimate relationship with someone," she explained.
Recognizing that these feelings may have contributed to his offending, she acknowledged that his engagement in online sexual chats represented a dangerous path that led to more sinister behaviors.
White, who was qualified as a mechanic and formerly worked as a motorcycle instructor, was unable to continue his role due to restrictions following these offences.
Judge Peter Kelson QC addressed White, emphasizing the impact of his actions: "This crime which you have committed is not a victimless crime.
Just because we don't have the children in this courtroom giving evidence of what was done to them does not mean that there are no victims.
Quite the contrary.
These images of those children that you were deriving pleasure from are evidence of crimes being committed.
There were victims and you were furthering this disgusting trade by sharing these videos.
Appropriate punishment can only be achieved through immediate custody." White was sentenced to two years in prison and received a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
His mobile phone, laptop, and tablet computer were ordered to be forfeited, preventing him from accessing similar material in the future.
