DALE RAMSAY'S REIGN OF TERROR IN DUNDEE: DOMESTIC ABUSE AND MENACING PHONE CALLS
Dale Ramsay, aged 29, has been found guilty of breaching court-imposed restrictions through a series of menacing and threatening phone calls to his former partner in Dundee.Despite a previous conviction for domestic abuse and a court order explicitly forbidding him from contacting the mother of his children by any means, Ramsay repeatedly violated these conditions over a span of more than a year.
His actions culminated in a particularly alarming incident on December 6, 2021, when his ex-girlfriend received a call from a withheld number.
When she inquired about the caller’s identity, Ramsay responded with a hostile remark, saying, “who the f**k else is it going to be?” He then demanded that she turn off her cameras and warned her not to record him, adding, “you better not be recording me.” The conversation took a threatening turn when Ramsay declared, “do you know what I’m going to do?
I’m going to f***ing kill you,” revealing his intent to harm her.
Following this incident, Ramsay appeared in Dundee Sheriff Court on December 13, 2021, via a petition from custody, after his arrest for the breach.
During the hearing, he denied the allegations, stating simply, “I never did it.” His troubling pattern of behavior persisted.
On April 30, 2022, Ramsay, under the influence of alcohol, made multiple calls to his former partner.
The court heard that he sought to borrow money from her, and when she refused, his anger intensified.
Despite her pleas for him to leave her alone, Ramsay continued to contact her, causing her significant distress.
Further violations occurred on November 5, 2022, when his victim received additional calls via Snapchat, a social media application.
She answered to tell him to stop, but he continued to call her, shouting about money and expressing fear about his reaction if she did not answer.
Police were eventually called to his new partner’s residence, where officers found Ramsay hiding under her bed.
His partner cooperated with authorities, allowing them into the house.
During the investigation, Ramsay’s lack of remorse or understanding of his actions was highlighted.
His defense solicitor, Mike Short, acknowledged that Ramsay “has no insight into his behaviour.” In light of these repeated offences, Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown deferred sentencing until June 15 to allow for further reports.
Ramsay, who resides on Bonnybank Road, pleaded guilty to four charges of domestic abuse and related harassment committed between December 2021 and November 2022, underscoring a pattern of threatening and intimidating conduct that has caused significant fear and distress to his former partner in Dundee.
