DUNDEE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BRUTAL ASSAULT ON GIRLFRIEND
A man named Conor Munro, aged 24, is involved in a brutal attack on his girlfriend, Nicole Jarrett. The attack was initiated after she poured his whisky down the sink, which angered Munro.
During the assault, Munro strangled Jarrett "to the danger of her life," leaving her choking on her own blood.
The incident took place while Munro was staying in supported accommodation, and part of the attack was witnessed by staff members who chose not to interfere and instead watched through a window as Munro hit Miss Jarrett while she struggled to breathe.
Court proceedings revealed that Miss Jarrett ran from Munro’s bedroom shouting for help before he chased her and wrapped his arm around her neck.
The court was told that the violence escalated after an argument caused by a text message from another woman.
When arrested, Munro was taken to Arbroath police station and spat on an officer.
Munro pleaded guilty to charges including assault to the danger of life, police assault, and threatening behavior.
His sentence was deferred, and the sheriff indicated he might send the case to the High Court for sentencing or impose an extended sentence.
Munro is currently held at HMP Perth.
