HULL WARLOCK CARL DESFORGES CAUGHT WITH OVER 17,000 ILLEGAL IMAGES OF BESTIALITY AND CHILD ABUSE
In February 2021, authorities uncovered a disturbing case involving Carl Desforges, a 55-year-old resident of Hull, who was found to possess an alarming collection of illegal images on his personal computer. The investigation revealed that Desforges, who self-identified as a 'warlock,' harbored a deeply perverted interest in bestiality, amassing a staggering total of over 17,000 illicit images.
The police investigation began when officers seized Desforges' laptop on March 19, 2019, during a routine search.
Upon examination, they discovered a vast trove of indecent photographs, including images of children aged between eight and thirteen, alongside numerous pictures depicting bestiality.
Prosecutor Nigel Clive explained to the court that the images of children were categorized as Category C, indicating a high level of severity, and that the majority of the collection consisted of animal abuse material.
Desforges, who resides on Derwent Street in Hull, was questioned by authorities and admitted to having a pornography addiction.
He claimed that he had been collecting such images for approximately nine years and that he often downloaded pornography without paying attention to the ages of the individuals involved.
During his police interview, he stated, 'I’m not sexually attracted to children in any way.
I’ve been very silly and very stupid.
It’s just when you’ve got the sort of collecting brain set, it’s very difficult, it’s like an itch.' Further investigation revealed that his digital files included 17,268 images, with nearly 17,000 classified as Category C.
Additionally, he had viewed and subsequently deleted around 10,000 other images.
Desforges also maintained an online presence under the pseudonym 'Aleae Warlock' on Facebook, where he identified himself with that moniker.
In court, Desforges' defense was that his mother, with whom he lives, now monitors his online activity to prevent him from viewing illegal content.
Despite this, the court found the evidence of his disturbing interests to be serious.
Judge David Tremberg sentenced Desforges to six months in prison, suspended for two years.
The judge remarked, 'You appear to have a particular perverted interest in bestiality.
You are an intelligent man, and I am perfectly satisfied that whilst you’re undertaking this disgraceful behavior, you knew it was seriously wrong.' Furthermore, Desforges was ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation activities and was placed under a sexual harm prevention order for seven years.
This order requires him to register all electronic devices with the police, prohibits him from deleting his search history, and mandates that officers have unrestricted access to inspect his devices at any time to ensure he is not downloading or viewing illegal material again.
