BRUNO RAE, ANGLESEY AND WARRINGTON SEX OFFENDER, CLEARED OF FURTHER CHARGES

In a recent development in the ongoing legal saga surrounding Bruno Rae, a man with a troubling history of sexual offenses, a judge has decided that there is insufficient evidence to pursue additional convictions related to new allegations. Rae, aged 52, who has previously resided in Warrington and later on Anglesey, is currently serving a substantial 16-year prison sentence after being convicted of raping a young girl.

The case that brought Rae back into the spotlight involved allegations of sexual misconduct against a young boy, which were brought before the court in Mold. A jury composed of seven men and five women heard detailed accusations of rape, attempted rape, and four other sexual offenses. These allegations surfaced after Rae’s initial conviction, which was handed down at Chester Crown Court in March 2013.

During the earlier trial, it was revealed that the female victim, who was only seven years old when the abuse began, endured a prolonged period of victimization that lasted until she was 14. The court heard that the abuse was both severe and systematic, with Judge Dutton describing Rae as an individual who was not only evil but also manipulative and controlling, showing no remorse for his actions.

Following the conviction, Rae was sentenced to 16 years in prison, a sentence that he is currently serving. However, in 2015, while Rae was in custody, the victim from the current case came forward with new allegations. She claimed that Rae had sexually assaulted her and attempted to rape her, actions that left her feeling frightened and intimidated. These new allegations prompted further investigation and a subsequent trial.
