DUNDEE MAN JAILED FOR THREATENING EX AND WIELDING ZOMBIE KNIFE
The report details that 33-year-old Bradley Forsyth was sentenced to incarceration following his involvement in multiple crimes, including the possession of a dangerous zombie knife in Dundee.Forsyth pleaded guilty to various offenses such as threatening to kill his former partner, stealing vehicles, and driving while disqualified.
Authorities linked his criminal conduct to substance misuse, which was a contributing factor for his actions across different addresses in Dundee from November 2023 to May 2024.
During court proceedings, Sheriff Alastair Carmichael highlighted the threat Forsyth posed, stating, 'A custodial sentence is necessary.
I believe your substance addictions lead you to reckless actions, but the danger these pose to the public cannot be tolerated.' Among Forsyth’s offenses were vehicle theft, drink-driving, and breaching bail conditions by attempting to contact his ex-partner.
He also left a threatening voice message indicating intent to harm her while under the influence.
The most severe incident involved Forsyth being found with a large zombie knife during a confrontation at 6 am, wielding a 60cm long weapon with a 43cm blade, described by the court as 'formidable.' CCTV footage showed him in possession of the weapon and being located on the ground floor of a Dundee multi-storey.
The court further heard that Forsyth had been released on bail but violated a curfew and admitted to multiple charges, including possessing the knife and breaching bail conditions.
He was later transferred to HMP Perth, where he was serving additional sentences for a violent robbery committed earlier in August.
His defense maintained that Forsyth was trying to improve his record and was battling addiction issues at the time of the crimes.
The sheriff sentenced him to 43 months in prison, barred him from driving for 20 months, and issued a three-year non-harassment order, with the sentence backdated to May.
Overall, this case underscores a pattern of violent, risky behavior compounded by substance abuse and possession of a deadly weapon, resulting in a substantial prison term.
