DUNDEE MAN BLAIR KENNEDY ADMITS SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLDS IN DUNDEE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Dundee, Blair Kennedy, a 19-year-old resident of Craigie Avenue, has admitted to engaging in multiple sexual offences involving underage girls.The allegations span over a two-year period, from January 2012 to December 2013, and involve at least five different victims, all aged 14 at the time of the incidents.
Authorities launched an extensive investigation after receiving a complaint against Kennedy.
As part of their inquiry, police meticulously examined his mobile phone, which contained an astonishing collection of over half a million text messages.
This detailed analysis uncovered evidence of sexual contact and inappropriate communication with four girls, all aged 14, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior.
The first victim was approached by Kennedy, who initially solicited explicit photographs of her.
He then sent her a revealing image of himself, from the waist down, further crossing boundaries.
Subsequently, Kennedy met with another 14-year-old girl at an address in Dundee, where she performed a sexual act on him.
The two later met again, this time when her mother was away at work, and engaged in sexual intercourse.
In addition to these encounters, Kennedy was involved in ongoing text exchanges with yet another 14-year-old girl.
During these conversations, he persistently asked her to engage in sexual activities and encouraged her to send explicit images, including photos of herself performing sex acts.
The girl expressed feeling uncomfortable with Kennedy’s persistent requests, highlighting the coercive nature of his communications.
Further complicating the case, Kennedy was also in contact with a fourth girl, who came to his residence after he suggested they go to bed together.
During this encounter, Kennedy touched her and attempted to remove her trousers.
However, the girl resisted, pushing him away and stating she did not want to proceed.
These incidents underscore the serious and predatory conduct involved.
Prosecutor Nicola Gillespie outlined the case before Dundee Sheriff Court, emphasizing the severity of Kennedy’s actions.
She explained that the initial complaint from one girl prompted police to seize and analyze his mobile device, revealing the vast number of messages and the extent of his misconduct.
As more victims came forward, the evidence against Kennedy grew stronger.
Kennedy pleaded guilty to five charges under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act, acknowledging his involvement in these offences.
His defense attorney, Kevin Hampton, acknowledged the gravity of the crimes, describing them as extremely serious.
The court heard that the offences took place at various addresses within Dundee.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC decided to defer sentencing until next month, pending the preparation of social work background reports.
Meanwhile, Kennedy was released on bail.
The sheriff emphasized the seriousness of the case, indicating that a careful and considered decision on his sentence would be made once all reports are available.
