ANTHONY SHERIDAN FROM DUNDEE DELAYED IN SENTENCING OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE
A man from Dundee, Anthony Sheridan, has experienced a further postponement in his sentencing after admitting to the possession of a significant number of indecent images of children.Sheridan, aged 39, previously entered a guilty plea to charges that included the possession of 359 illegal images stored on his personal computer, as well as the use of file erasing software to conceal his activities.
His sentencing, which was initially scheduled, has now been deferred once again as authorities await additional reports and conduct further investigations into his case.
The court has indicated that these reports are necessary to determine the appropriate punishment for Sheridan’s actions.
It is noteworthy that Sheridan was convicted in 2015 for possessing an even larger collection of over 13,000 such images.
Following that conviction, he was released early from prison under conditions that allowed him to re-enter society.
However, prosecutors have alleged that Sheridan resumed his offending behavior after his release, as evidenced by the recent discovery of more illegal images on his devices.
The case has now been sent back to the court for further sentencing proceedings, with authorities emphasizing the seriousness of the charges and the need for a thorough assessment before final judgment is passed.
