DUNDEE MAN INVOLVED IN THEFTS AND THREATS, COURT DEFERRED HIS SENTENCE
Alyn Bradford, aged 38 and living in St Kilda Road, was charged with a range of criminal offenses as detailed in Dundee Sheriff Court. He pled guilty to several thefts, including acquiring clothing and footwear from a supermarket on Derwent Avenue.
He also admitted to stealing a bicycle from an Asda store in Kirkton, which belonged to a 13-year-old boy.
The boy had left the bike in the store’s foyer with a friend, and it was missing when they returned.
Bradford displayed trousers and shoes he claimed were from Asda, and when asked about the bicycle theft, he commented: “From Asda, if people can steal from us I can steal from them,” referencing a theft he committed approximately a year earlier.
The case revealed that the victim’s mother and ex-girlfriend were intimidated by Bradford due to threats he made, including an incident where he angrily shouted as he left her house: “If you don’t have my stuff out of the loft and at my house in the next four hours I’m going to put petrol through your letterbox and set light to it.” Officers located Bradford nearby at 8:15 pm, where he displayed aggression towards the police and attempted to kick an officer.
He also threatened violence towards his ex-partner and her family, who had previously experienced a fire-related tragedy.
Bradford admitted to the threats, the thefts, and assaulting Police Constable Graham McNaughton by attempting to kick him.
The case was postponed until 28 September by Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC, with bail remaining in place.
