ALEX GREEN AND SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CHESTERFIELD AND YORK
A convicted sex offender named Alex Green, residing in Chesterfield, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in disturbing and illegal activities involving underage girls. The case, which was heard at Derby Crown Court, revealed that Green, a 39-year-old man, had been involved in a series of predatory actions that violated court orders and exploited vulnerable minors.
The court was informed that Green had previously been subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which was imposed in 2018 as part of his punishment for prior sexual offences against children.
This order explicitly prohibited him from making contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Despite this, Green continued to pursue underage girls through social media platforms, specifically Instagram, in a manner that demonstrated a blatant disregard for the restrictions placed upon him.
According to the evidence presented, Green had messaged a young girl, attempting to arrange a meeting in York where they could stay overnight.
The court heard that he had also sent her money—just under £50—to buy underwear, and then requested that she send him photographs of herself wearing the underwear.
The girl complied with his request, and Green further suggested they meet in York for an overnight stay, indicating a clear intent to engage in inappropriate and illegal activities.
In addition to his interactions with the 15-year-old girl, Green also targeted an 11-year-old girl.
The prosecution revealed that on March 11, 2022, the mother of the young girl discovered inappropriate messages on her child's phone.
These messages, sent from Green's Instagram account, included comments such as “you look sweaty, you should take a shower,” which were deemed highly inappropriate given the girl’s age.
The mother promptly contacted Green, who did not answer her call but was later found to have sent further messages.
On March 17, 2022, police officers attended Green’s residence on Stuart Close, Tapton, Chesterfield, and recovered a Samsung mobile phone.
Examination of the device uncovered messages in which Green expressed love for a 15-year-old girl and had sent her money on two separate occasions—one just under £50 for underwear and another £30.
He also requested that she send him photographs of herself in the underwear, and he discussed the possibility of meeting her in York for an overnight stay.
Green pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of breaching the sexual harm prevention order, one count of making an indecent image of a child, and a fourth charge related to sexual communication with a child.
The court was told that Green appeared via a video link from Nottingham Magistrates’ Court due to mobility issues.
During sentencing, Recorder Adrian Reynolds emphasized the seriousness of Green’s actions.
He stated, “I am not going to give you a lecture because the position in this case is quite straightforward.
You were given a chance by way of a community order on the strength of your pre-sentence report in 2021 when you were assessed as being able to be managed in the community.
When judges give that chance, they do so on the basis that there’s a realistic prospect that offenders will do their best to deal with their sexual attraction to, in your case, young girls.” The judge further criticized Green’s conduct, noting that he had continued to contact young girls behind the scenes, despite the court’s restrictions.
“You are paying lip service to this order and it is quite apparent to me that you have expressed a high degree of deviousness and that means you can’t be trusted,” he added.
As a result of his guilty pleas and the severity of his offences, Green was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.
Additionally, the court revoked his existing sexual harm prevention order and replaced it with a new lifetime order.
Green will also be required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, marking a significant and serious consequence for his actions in Chesterfield and York.
