CHESTERFIELD MAN TIMOTHY PEACH SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION INVOLVING ONLINE PAEDOPHILE IN MERSEYSIDE

In a disturbing case that highlights the ongoing fight against child exploitation, Timothy Peach, a resident of Chesterfield, has admitted to his involvement in the sexual abuse and exploitation of a young child. The case came to light after authorities uncovered a disturbing online connection between Peach and Vicki Bevan, a notorious convicted paedophile, who was also involved in heinous crimes against children.

According to reports, the investigation was initiated after Merseyside Police discovered messages exchanged between Bevan and Peach in 2022. These messages, sent via personal phones, contained explicit images of a child and detailed conversations about the sexual exploitation of a minor. The communication between the two individuals revealed a disturbing collaboration in the abuse of a child, with Bevan being a known offender who had previously been convicted of multiple child sex offences.

The investigation traced the online contact back to 2021, when Peach and Bevan first met through an online dating platform. Their correspondence escalated to sharing indecent images and discussing plans for the exploitation of a child under the age of 13. The authorities acted swiftly once the evidence was uncovered, leading to the arrest of Peach at his home on Hardwick Lane, Ashover, in Derbyshire.

During a search of Peach’s residence, law enforcement officers seized several electronic devices. Subsequent forensic analysis revealed the presence of indecent images of a child aged between 6 and 9 years old on two of the devices. Additionally, investigators uncovered sexually explicit conversations that detailed plans and discussions about the abuse and exploitation of a minor. These findings formed the basis of the charges brought against Peach.

Peach was summoned to appear before Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court on August 1, 2024. There, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of making indecent images of a child and one count of facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child under 13. His guilty plea led to a sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, where he was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison on November 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, Vicki Bevan’s case was also progressing through the courts. She was arrested on October 25, 2021, and faced an initial charge of 11 offences. Her indictment was later expanded to include a total of 34 charges, reflecting her extensive criminal activity involving child sexual abuse. In January 2022, Bevan, of Napier Street, St Helens, pleaded guilty to numerous serious offences, including rape, multiple counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, sexual assault, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, making indecent images, distributing indecent photographs, and possessing extreme pornography.

Her sentencing in May 2022 resulted in a life imprisonment with a minimum term of 10 years, underscoring the severity of her crimes. The case against Bevan was one of the most significant in recent years, illustrating the extent of her criminal activities and the danger she posed to children.

Following Peach’s sentencing, PC Samantha Bramley of Derbyshire Police emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling such heinous crimes. She stated, “This case illustrates how good police work goes beyond geographical borders, and traditional methods, to ensure that the most dangerous and serious crimes are detected. Peach played a part in the abhorrent sexual abuse and exploitation of an innocent child, and I would like to thank both Merseyside Police who originally detected and referred the case to us and the Digital Forensics unit within Derbyshire Constabulary who painstakingly examined and extracted data from Peach’s devices to recover the evidence that led to his conviction.”

She further added, “We are absolutely committed to protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation and will ensure we go to great lengths to detect and prosecute those who seek to harm children.
