AKI NIKULAINEN FROM DUNDEE FACES SERIOUS CHARGES OF RAPE AND ASSAULT IN TAYSIDE
A man identified as Aki Nikulainen has been placed in custody following serious allegations of sexual assault and violence against two women in the Tayside region. The charges span a period from May 2018 to October of this year, involving multiple incidents that have shocked the local community.
According to the prosecution, Nikulainen, aged 27, is accused of committing three separate attacks during this timeframe.
The first incident allegedly took place at an address in Longforgan on May 1, 2018, where he is accused of raping a woman.
The same woman reportedly became a victim again on September 3 of the same year, at the same location, in what is described as a second assault.
The third and most recent charge involves an incident on October 11 this year, at a residence in Dundee’s Polepark area.
Prosecutors allege that Nikulainen threatened a second woman with violence before forcibly entering her home.
It is claimed that he pulled her hair, pushed her into a bedroom, forced her onto a bed, and raped her during this encounter.
At his initial court appearance, Nikulainen, who resides on Liberton Road in Edinburgh, did not enter a plea.
His case was adjourned for further examination by Sheriff John Rafferty.
As a result, he was remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The case continues to develop as authorities investigate these serious allegations against him.
