DUNDEE MAN AARON BELL JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE AND VIOLENCE A repeated offender of domestic violence has received yet another prison term following aggressive behavior towards his partner, starting the day after he was released from prison.Aaron Bell was transported from HMP Perth to Dundee Sheriff Court, where he pleaded guilty to a pattern of domestic abuse between December 2022 and February 2023 at various locations in Dundee.
The 36-year-old had been released from HMP Edinburgh on December 30, 2022, having completed a sentence there.
His ex-partner collected him after he reached out from jail, expressing his intention to marry her and become a responsible father.
The day after his release, he persuaded her not to wear a dress she liked for a Hogmanay party, telling her, “I think you should put some clothes on.” Two weeks later, at a friend’s house, he insisted she keep her leather jacket on to cover herself.
Later on, he took her phone and, upon discovering she had been messaging a man about selling a phone, he threw the device at a door, causing £100 worth of damage.
A month afterward, when she returned home after going out with friends, videos appeared online in which Bell threatened her, saying: “I’m going to f***ing knock you out,” leading to the breakup of their relationship.
Following this series of abusive acts, Bell was sentenced by the High Court for earlier violence against the same woman and two other women.
His previous offenses include dousing a pregnant partner with fuel and threatening to set her on fire, as well as imprisoning another woman inside a house.
Defense lawyer Kevin Jarvis stated: “He has been looking forward to his release and has been engaging in work within prison.
He completed a mechanic course—he previously owned a garage.” Mr.Jarvis added that Bell’s only prior convictions were traffic violations before 2018, and that his offending began after the death of his son.
He also noted that Bell has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder while in custody.
Regarding his future, Mr.
Jarvis said: “He is eager to turn over a new leaf and has no intention of contacting the complainant again.” Sheriff Gregor Murray sentenced Bell to an additional year in prison, to run concurrently with his current sentence, and also imposed a ten-year non-harassment order.

One of the most shocking incidents involved Bell pouring fuel on a pregnant woman at a residence in Dundee.
During the court proceedings at the High Court in Glasgow, it was revealed that Bell not only assaulted her but also found humor in her distress.
He threatened to set her on fire while she was heavily pregnant, an act that the judge described as terrifying and deeply disturbing.
The court heard that Bell's behavior was part of a pattern of systemic abuse directed at all three women he targeted.
In addition to the fuel incident, Bell was convicted of assaulting and threatening the first woman, including strangling her with a car seatbelt.
The second woman suffered a serious nose injury after being physically assaulted by him.
His abuse extended further to a third woman, whom he controlled and emotionally manipulated.
Bell kept her confined within a house, forcing her to escape by climbing out of a window.
He also engaged in financial abuse by withdrawing money from her bank account, monitoring her contacts, and tampering with her mail.
The judge, Tony Kelly, described Bell's conduct as a systematic pattern of predatory and abusive behavior.
He stated, "One spoke of a terrifying ordeal at your hands.
Amongst other things, you doused her in fuel threatening to set her on fire while she was heavily pregnant.
For some reason, you saw humour in this conduct." The court emphasized the severity of Bell's actions, portraying his victims' experiences as a constant, horrifying nightmare.
As part of his sentencing, Bell was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
Additionally, he was issued non-harassment orders that prohibit him from contacting any of the women involved for a period of five years, aiming to protect them from further harm and ensure their safety moving forward.
