ABERDEEN MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER DOMESTIC ASSAULT FIASCO
A man named Zbigniew Kulik was involved in a domestic violence incident where he chased and assaulted his girlfriend with a belt after she accidentally dirtied the living room carpet by trailing mud into the house.Kulik grabbed the woman and repeatedly punched her in the head, chasing her while armed with a belt, swinging it and making contact with her arm.
During the attack, the woman attempted to defend herself by picking up a knife.
Kulik falsely claimed to social workers that she had hit him with the knife.
The incident took place at an address on Balnagask Road on May 30 last year.
Kulik admitted to a domestic assault charge, which was described as a serious matter, but the court noted the relationship continued without further incidents.
Sheriff Graeme Napier ordered Kulik to be supervised for a year and to pay a fine of £470.
Kulik’s partner had initially alerted the authorities after soil was brought into the house, leading to a confrontation where punches were thrown, causing a cut to her lip, swelling, bruising, and scratches after him swinging a belt.
Kulik called the police himself following the incident.
