ABERDEEN DOMESTIC ABUSER RECEIVES JAIL WARNING AFTER VIOLENT ATTACKS
A domestic abuser named Tomas Pocta who was involved in violent incidents with his pregnant partner has been handed a severe warning by the court. The court revealed that Pocta’s partner was six months pregnant during some of the abuse which included him putting her in a headlock and dragging her along the floor.
He also made threatening remarks such as "I will treat you like your ex did because you deserve it".
After their child was born, Pocta further threatened to kill his partner following a drunken incident in May, where he also attempted to strangle her and took their baby back inside the house after she fled.
The neighbor's intervention led to his arrest.
Pocta admitted to engaging in a course of abusive conduct towards his partner, which included physical violence and threats to kill her.
During sentencing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Sheriff Philip Mann expressed outrage at Pocta’s behaviour, labeling it an "absolute disgrace" and emphasizing the seriousness of such abuse under UK law.
Pocta was sentenced to 180 hours of unpaid work and a one-year supervision order as an alternative to custody, with a warning that similar offences in the future could result in imprisonment.
