SHEFFIELD MAN STEPHEN MARTIN SENTENCED FOR YEARS OF SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGER IN SHEFFIELD
In August 2017, a man from Sheffield was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a young boy over several years.
Sixty-four-year-old Stephen Martin, of Holgate Avenue, Parson Cross, was sentenced to seven years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court.
This followed a four-day trial held last month, in which he was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Martin had befriended a teenage boy, who was just 14 when the abuse began, and groomed him systematically by giving him sweets and presents before subjecting him to sexual acts.
The victim was compelled to recount his traumatic experience after Martin pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Additionally, Martin has been subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order as part of the court's measures.
