Following her guilty plea, Prentice faced sentencing at Leicester Crown Court.
She admitted to two counts of abusing her position of trust, which included mutual touching and engaging in sexual intercourse with the underage student.
The court sentenced her to a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, meaning she would not serve time immediately but would be under supervision and subject to certain conditions.
