Following a dispute with her mother-in-law, Norburn slapped her husband twice in the face.
The police arrived to manage the situation, but Norburn's behavior deteriorated further when she confronted a female officer.
She began swinging punches and kicks at the officer, causing bruising to her shin, and had to be restrained on the ground by police.
Norburn pleaded guilty to a domestically aggravated assault charge against her husband and to assaulting the police officer involved, resulting in a fine of £320.
Her defense argued that high emotions and alcohol influenced her actions, but the sheriff emphasized that drunkenness is no excuse and noted that the incident was not considered exceptional, mostly typical of alcohol-fueled outbursts.
Norburn expressed remorse, claiming she has never behaved in such a manner before and would not do so again.
She also highlighted her concern about the impact of the conviction on her studies in childcare.
