Step brother is finally brought to justice A man has been given a suspended jail sentence for sexually abusing his step brothers 25 years ago. Simon Kapszul assaulted A and B (A & B refer to the brothers – Names have been taken out) when they all lived together as a family in Oakridge, Basingstoke in the early 1980s Kapszul’s father began a relationship with the mother of A & B and the three boys starting sharing a room at the house from September 1982 Prosecuting counsel Lucy Davis told how Kapszul, who now lives in Buckskin, performed sex acts on the boys when they were aged between 7 and 11 years old. Kapszul was 14 years old when the assaults began Kapszul denied all the allegations and maintained his innocence when the matter went to trial at Winchester crown court Kapszul was found guilty of 4 sexual assault related incidents. Kapszul was given a 12 month custodial for each of the four counts to run concurrently, suspended for a period of two years He was also required to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and was told to pay £750 for prosecution costs
