CHRISTOPHER HAYWARD BANNED FROM BASINGSTOKE AND POPLEY FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In January 2013, a disturbing case involving Christopher Hayward, a resident of Buckskin near Basingstoke, came to light as the courts addressed serious allegations of sexual misconduct and possession of child abuse images.The case revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that shocked the local community and prompted a reevaluation of his initial sentencing.
Hayward, aged 28 at the time, was convicted of engaging in sexual activities with a 13-year-old girl, a victim from Popley, during the summer of 2010.
The court heard that he had taken her virginity when she was just a child, and continued to have unprotected sex with her on approximately eight or nine occasions.
These encounters occurred in a wooded area, with the girl being coaxed into the woods by Hayward, who was then living in Holyrood Court, Buckskin, Basingstoke.
The case was brought to light after her friends grew concerned and suspicious about her behavior, leading to her brief escape from home and eventual disclosure of the relationship.
Police investigations intensified when they searched Hayward’s residence on Falkland Road, Popley.
During the search, officers uncovered a staggering collection of approximately 5,000 indecent images of teenage girls stored on his computer.
These images ranged from level one (least severe) to level five (most severe) in terms of explicit content.
