SHEILA DAVIES ABERDEEN CHILD ABUSER: HORRIFIC TORTURE IN STORNOWAY CRESCENT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Aberdeen, Sheila Davies, a woman with a dark history linked to child care, has been convicted of heinous abuse against six young children over an eight-year period.

The trial, held at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, revealed a pattern of cruelty that spanned from 1993 to 2001, with the victims ranging in age from four to twelve years old.

Sheila Davies, aged 59, faced multiple charges of assault and mistreatment, which culminated in her being found guilty of six counts yesterday.

The court proceedings detailed how she subjected the children to physical abuse, including slapping them on the head, force-feeding them, and even dragging one child out of a bunk bed in her residence located on Stornoway Crescent.

The severity of her actions has left a lasting scar on the victims, some of whom have carried the trauma for over two decades.

One of her victims, who was placed in her care at the tender age of four, spoke out last night, expressing regret for not speaking sooner.

She shared her feelings of guilt and remorse, stating, "I have felt guilty for the last 22 years that I haven’t said anything to the authorities, because if I did say something maybe I could have put a stop to it." She recounted how police approached her during an investigation, informing her of a broader inquiry into Davies’s conduct.

After contemplating for three days, she decided to come forward, believing that justice must be served.

"She has got to go to prison for this," she emphasized.

Reflecting on her own experiences, the victim described how her mother never used physical discipline, making Davies’s abuse even more traumatic.

She admitted that her memories are vivid and painful, describing how she never forgets the person who inflicted harm upon her.

Sheila Davies’s background includes her previous role as the owner of All Stars Nursery on Don Street in Aberdeen.

However, her career in childcare was marred by scandal when, in 2007, she was banned from working with children after an inspection uncovered that children were being force-fed out-of-date food.

The recent conviction has cast a dark shadow over her past, revealing a pattern of neglect and cruelty.

In addition to her criminal charges, a report from a care watchdog painted a grim picture of the nursery environment she once managed.

Inspectors observed children at All Stars Nursery crying uncontrollably, with staff seemingly indifferent to their distress.

One particularly distressing incident involved a child crying themselves to sleep during lunch, with staff failing to intervene.

The report also highlighted serious safety concerns, including the failure to conduct criminal record checks on some staff members, thereby putting children at unnecessary risk.

Sheila Davies, of Stornoway Crescent, Aberdeen, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 26.

The community awaits the outcome, but the case has already served as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding children and the devastating consequences when trust is broken by those entrusted with their care.
