SEAN FALLON CAUGHT IN NORTHAMPTON AND LINCOLNSHIRE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION SCANDAL
A young man from Northampton has been sentenced after engaging in a disturbing online grooming and exploitation scheme involving a 13-year-old girl from Lincolnshire.Sean Fallon, aged 21, was found to have persuaded the underage girl to send him explicit photographs after they began communicating via Facebook.
The case came to light when the girl’s mother, suspicious of her daughter’s online activity, installed monitoring software on her device, which allowed her to access her Facebook account and uncover the inappropriate exchanges.
According to court proceedings at Lincoln Crown Court, Fallon was residing in Northampton at the time of the incidents, which took place in the spring of 2013.
Despite the geographical distance—approximately 50 miles from the girl’s home—Fallon and the young girl maintained contact through social media, engaging in conversations that quickly turned sexualized.
Prosecutor Michael Cranmer-Brown detailed that the girl’s mother discovered her daughter was communicating with someone calling himself Sean “cheeky” Fallon after the monitoring software revealed the activity in June 2013.
Mr.
Cranmer-Brown explained that the conversations involved explicit content and sexualized discussions.
Fallon had inquired about the girl’s breasts and attempted to persuade her to send photographs of herself.
Despite her initial reluctance and refusal on multiple occasions, Fallon persisted.
The situation escalated when Fallon sent the girl a naked photograph of himself, which ultimately led her to send him three explicit images of herself.
The court also heard that Fallon managed to persuade the girl to perform a sexual act on herself, further demonstrating his manipulative behavior.
During the hearing, defense lawyer Robert Underwood described Fallon as an “immature” 19-year-old at the time of the offenses.
He emphasized that Fallon had no prior criminal record and was unemployed, often feeling isolated and alone.
Mr.
Underwood expressed that Fallon was terrified of losing his freedom and was genuinely remorseful for his actions.
Fallon, who resides on Stockmead Road, Priors Meadow, Northampton, pleaded guilty to two charges: intentionally inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and encouraging the production of pornographic images.
The court sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to be under the supervision of a probation officer for the same period.
Additionally, Fallon was subjected to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which will remain in effect for five years, and he is required to register as a sex offender.
In delivering the sentence, Recorder Nicholas Syfret QC made it clear to Fallon the gravity of his misconduct.
“I don’t want you in any doubt about the seriousness of what you have done,” he stated.
The judge also highlighted the importance of protecting vulnerable children, asserting, “Thirteen-year-olds have to be protected from everybody, and have to be protected from 19-year-olds.” The case underscores the ongoing risks posed by online grooming and the importance of vigilance among parents and guardians to safeguard young people from exploitation.
