ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR VICIOUS ASSAULT ON GIRLFRIEND AND HER FRIENDS
Samuel Milne, aged 20, has been publicly admonished for violent conduct after admitting to assaulting his girlfriend and two female friends as they tried to help each other during a night out in Aberdeen. The incident took place around 1 am after a night at Murdo’s Bar, where Milne began to behave aggressively, shouting and pulling his girlfriend's hood, causing her to stagger.
The woman was distressed, and when she screamed, Milne responded by putting her in a headlock and dragging her into the street.
During the altercation, he punched her in the head, causing a two-centimeter cut on her neck that was bleeding.
A female friend who attempted to intervene was also struck by Milne in the head.
Police found Milne with a male associate in a headlock on North Anderson Drive, with a visible neck wound on him.
Milne pleaded guilty to three assault charges in Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Margaret Hodge warned him about the potentially serious consequences of his actions, emphasizing that violent acts, especially involving head injuries, could lead to severe harm or death.
It was revealed that Milne had previously committed a similar assault at the same location in June, for which he was fined.
The Sheriff criticized his lack of responsibility and noted that his violence was alcohol-fueled, warning of possible custodial sentences if his behavior persisted.
Ultimately, Milne was sentenced to a six-month structured deferred sentence, with a clear admonition that continued violent behavior could result in jail time.
