ABERDEEN NIGHTCLUB ASSAULT: MAN HEADBUTTS EX AND PUNCHES WOMAN
A man named Ross Jack was involved in a violent incident at an Aberdeen nightclub.
He spent a night in custody after he headbutted his former boyfriend and repeatedly punched a woman in the head.
According to court reports, Jack's relationship of a year had recently ended when he encountered his ex and his friend at the Underground nightclub on Bridge Street.
The altercation began in the smoking area and escalated to violence, with Jack headbutting and punching his ex and assaulting the woman.
A passerby had to alert police, and Jack was arrested and detained overnight at Kittybrewster Police Station.
During the court hearing, his defense argued that Jack had a troubled upbringing, losing his father and caring for his ill mother and sibling.
The defense also claimed that Jack was followed into the smoking area and was provoked by the female involved.
Despite this, the sheriff acknowledged his mental health struggles but stated that it "didn’t excuse" his behavior.
Jack pleaded guilty to charges of assault and assault causing injury, and the court sentenced him to a £210 fine and a community payback order, including supervision for a year and 60 hours of unpaid work.
