RORY KNOX AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN GLASGOW AND MILTON OF CAMPSIE
A man from Helensburgh, Rory Knox, has recently become the focus of serious criminal proceedings after a series of disturbing allegations involving both animal abuse and the sexual exploitation of a young girl.Knox, aged 39, was initially known for his involvement in a shocking incident earlier this year, when he admitted to abusing his partner's dog using a 10cm sex toy.
During that incident, Knox claimed to be playing with the pet when the toy became lodged inside her, an incident he later explained out of concern that he might face arrest if taken to the vet.
As a result of that behavior, he was subject to police scrutiny and was subsequently tagged and placed under supervision for a period of one year.
The more recent and more grave allegations came to light when Knox pleaded guilty on Tuesday, October 11, to charges related to a sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl.
These offences occurred at a property in Milton of Campsie, which is located within East Dunbartonshire.
The court heard that Knox had engaged in ongoing inappropriate contact and communication with the young girl, including directing sexual language towards her during this period, which spanned from January 2019 to March 2021.
The charges also detailed that Knox attempted to obtain sexual gratification by making sexualised comments and conversations, which caused distress and alarm to the child.
According to testimony presented in Glasgow Sheriff Court, the young girl came forward with her allegations after experiencing what she described as uncomfortable and inappropriate behaviour from Knox.
Prosecutor Hannah Sweeney outlined that the girl recalled an incident where she was sitting fully clothed on a kitchen fridge when Knox instructed her to open her legs, which she refused to do.
She also recounted another instance when she was seated on the living room couch and Knox again asked her to open her legs.
She told the court that Knox put his hands on her knees and parted them without her consent, and she asked him to stop because she did not like it.
Additionally, she informed authorities that Knox made lewd comments, such as asking, “I wonder how big their breasts are,” following a WhatsApp video call with her friends.
Following the revelation of these allegations, police apprehended Knox.
During the proceedings, prosecutors detailed Knox's attempts to manipulate and humiliate the girl through sexually inappropriate messages.
His case was adjourned, with the court, presided over by Sheriff Tom Hughes, deciding to defer sentence until background reports could be considered.
Knox was placed on the sex offenders register and was granted bail in the meantime, pending further sentencing.
