MAN ADMITS SEX ASSAULT ON WOMAN DURING SAUSAGE AND CIDER FESTIVAL
Robertas Serva, aged 42, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the annual Aberdeen Sausage and Cider Festival held in Hazlehead Park. The incident occurred when Serva was seen to grab the woman's bottom while she was ordering drinks at the festival's bar.
He admitted to the assault in Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The woman, whom Serva did not know, reacted by expressing her shock and distress, prompting her to leave the scene and seek help from festival stewards.
Witnesses reported that Serva, who was heavily intoxicated and had just been refused more alcohol, became confrontational and verbally abusive when police arrived.
Serva, a Lithuanian national, pleaded guilty to the sexual assault.
The court agreed to defer sentencing until July 30, 2026, and ordered that he be included on the sex offenders register.
The defence requested additional time to prepare mitigation with the help of a Lithuanian interpreter, and Sheriff Christian Marney took these steps.
