ABERDEEN WOMAN DESTROYS EX’S CAR OVER HOLIDAY PLANS AND DEBT
A woman named Rachel Duncan, aged 23, caused a disturbance after discovering her ex-partner was planning to go on holiday to Turkey despite owing her money for child maintenance.According to reports, Duncan "lost her composure" and in a fit of rage, she smashed the windows of his vehicle with a hammer.
She then breached a court-imposed condition not to approach the man by turning up at his home in Aberdeen with a hammer less than 24 hours later.
Duncan was arrested and later released under strict conditions to stay away from the man.
Nonetheless, she was found outside his residence again with a hammer less than a day later, further breaching the bail condition.
At court, her solicitor explained she "accepted that her behaviour in relation to this offence is appalling" and that she "saw that he was packing a bag and was going on an undisclosed holiday to Turkey," which caused her to "snap" and "lose her composure." The court heard she had never been in trouble before and expressed her desire to avoid future misconduct.
The sheriff deferred sentencing for a social work report and imposed no immediate penalties.
