PRZEMYSLAW ROGOWSKI'S BRUTAL CRIMES IN GLASGOW: POLISH MAN SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a harrowing case that has shocked the Glasgow community, Przemyslaw Rogowski, a 33-year-old man originally from Poland, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of heinous crimes involving two of his former partners.The offences, which spanned over an eight-year period, included severe physical assaults and sexual abuse, described by the presiding judge as both 'brutal and degrading.' The sentencing took place at the High Court in Glasgow, where Judge John Beckett QC delivered the verdict.
Rogowski was convicted of multiple counts of assault and sexual misconduct against the two women, who had initially believed him to be a caring and affectionate partner.
However, the court heard that his demeanor changed drastically once he moved in with each woman, revealing a pattern of increasing violence and control.
Judge Beckett expressed serious concerns about Rogowski's potential threat to the public, ordering that he be subject to a four-year period of monitoring following his release from prison.
The judge emphasized the importance of protecting women and the wider community from further harm, stating, "Woman and the public have to be protected from harm." The case came to light after one of Rogowski’s victims reported him to the police, revealing that he possessed a collection of child abuse images.
The authorities discovered that Rogowski had stored 109 disturbing photographs depicting children, which further compounded the severity of his crimes.
Prosecutor Tim Niven-Smith highlighted the disturbing nature of Rogowski’s interests, noting that he appeared to have a predilection for young girls aged between six and twelve years old, along with an interest in rape-related pornography.
Niven-Smith explained that Rogowski’s criminal behavior was not limited to viewing such material but extended to physically carrying out acts of violence and sexual assault at his home.
Throughout the two-week trial, Rogowski maintained his innocence, denying all charges and claiming that the allegations made by the women were fabricated.
Despite his denials, the evidence presented in court was compelling enough to secure a conviction.
Both women provided emotional testimonies, describing how Rogowski initially appeared to be a charming and loving partner.
However, their accounts detailed a disturbing transformation once he moved in with them, revealing a pattern of controlling, aggressive, and violent behavior that culminated in the assaults and rapes for which he was ultimately sentenced.
