BOOTLE MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE GROOMING AND DISTURBING SEXUAL COMMUNICATION
A man from Bootle has been jailed following his conviction for online grooming and sending sexually explicit material to what he believed was a 14-year-old child.Peter Thomas, who was arrested on 14 March 2022, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on 19 April 2023, where he pleaded guilty to charges of Online Grooming and Disturbing Sexual Communication.
Investigations revealed that Thomas not only engaged in inappropriate conversations but also sent explicit images and sexual videos of himself, describing in detail the acts he intended to carry out on the child.
The case was brought to light through the efforts of decoys and online investigators, who exposed his activities and ensured he was brought before the courts.
At sentencing, the court heard the extent of his offences before issuing the following punishment: • 28 months in prison • Sexual Harm Prevention and Notification Order lasting 10 years The operation that led to Thomas’ arrest and conviction involved the work of FEUK (Fleetwood Enforcers UK) with decoys Normy & Lizzie, researcher FEUK, and hunters JD & SKouse.
